who we are

No one has all the answers. That’s why we pride ourselves on the idea that continual learning, internal growth and building leadership skills offers you, the client, the one “differentiator” that is most important: a culture that will grow and change with your brand and the evolving Hispanic market.

Our leadership team consists of visionaries, believers and actualizers with over 21 years of experience of finding the soft-spot between branding and eliciting action: Hispanic Brand Action.

Horacio Gomes | Founder
Horacio began his advertising career at the tender
age of 17, starting as a creative at ARS Publicidad in Caracas, Venezuela. In 1980 he moved to the United States to study at the University of San Francisco where he received his BA and Masters degrees in Advertising and Marketing. In 1987, Horacio founded HeadQuarters Advertising. Under his leadership, HeadQuarters has grown from a small start-up to an agency with billings of more than $36 million as of 2000. Horacio continues to lead the agency he founded. His peers honored him by electing him president of the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA), of which he is a founding member.

Michael Greaney | President and Managing Director
Michael actually began his career as a stockbroker for Dean Witter Reynolds. After five years there, he joined HeadQuarters in 1987 and now oversees the agency’s operations and general financial contracts. Michael also plays an active role in client relations, account management and new business development. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California at Berkeley, as well as a Master’s degree in economics from San Francisco State University.

Digna Roque | Executive Creative Director
Digna has led the HeadQuarters creative team on the creation and development of highly successful, award-winning television, outdoor and radio campaigns for Bell Atlantic, SBC Communications, California Federal Bank, Calif. Dept. of Health Services, the American Civil Liberties Union, Del Monte Foods and AARP among other clients. She joined HeadQuarters in 1997. Prior to joining HeadQuarters, Digna served as Creative Director for Toyota, Procter & Gamble, Bell Atlantic, Beneficial, Sumitomo Bank, Miles Laboratories, Scott Paper and Minute Maid at Conill Advertising in Los Angeles. Digna has been honored with a CLIO, several Addy's, and Se Habla Español awards primarily for her television, radio and print campaigns.

Carol Polombo | Media Director
Carol established her impeccable reputation in the media industry as Broadcast Media Manager for Macy’s West for 15 years. Upon their closing down the San Francisco office two years ago, Carol joined HeadQuarters to run its media department. While she currently focuses on media, she has done everything from baking outrageously beautiful and scrumptious desserts to copywriting, commercial production and account management. She loves the fast paced nature of the business and discovering new and different ways to help clients achieve their marketing goals. To her, negotiating an awesome deal is better than finding a 50% off rack sale at Nordstrom’s shoe department.

Fausto Gortaire | Account Director
If you want the epitome of the Hispanic heart and soul, Fausto Gortaire is your guy – And our guy too since 2001. As account director at HeadQuarters, Fausto successfully leads the strategy and planning for our largest accounts. He approches every account with the same team support, intelligence and passion he puts on display when he kicks the ball twice a week as a midfielder with two Latino soccer teams in San Francisco. Fausto is also a talented Art Director, Poet and “Reggaetonero”, who is finishing up his MBA at San Francisco State University to better fulfill his other passion, Marketing to Hispanics. This vibrant Latino lives in the Mission District of San Francisco and could not think of living anywhere else in the city.
